MAURY Vendange Mise Tardive 2003 Soil type Gentle south facing slopes - chalky-clay at the bottom with schist on the upper reaches. Grape Varieties Grenaches noir grapes specially selected from 30 - 50 yr vines. Wine Making Grapes are selected and sorted in the vineyard. The are picked by hand, de-stemmed, fermented (with skins), macerated 27 days. Pressing is with a pneumatic press - in manual mode. The juices are separated, and then blended. Maturing The unfiltered and non-clarified wine is kept for 24 months in barrels in air-conditioned cellars. Aged in bottles in the same cellars for 24 months |
The wine Beautifully ruby color, aromas of red fruits, blackcurrant, prunes, vanilla. Generous and well balanced. Full bodied and well-structured: good tannins combined with a red fruit taste. Luxurious long finish Delightfully light, sweet, with a hint of crystallised lemon, zest of orange. Unusual last note of bergamote and turkish delight. A sophisticated wine with a long finish.
